Downhill riding enthusiasts find their pulses pounding and adrenal glands rapidly depleting at Mount 7. A variety of incredibly sustained downhill singletrack for everyone, from beginner to hucker, is the reward for a shuttle or pedal up the B.C. Forest Service road that starts right in town.
For classic pedaling goodness, the Moonraker and Dawn Mountain trail networks, across the Columbia River on the west bench of Golden, are where it's at. They provide excellent, roller coaster riding and some wicked views, south over the yawning chasm of Canyon Creek, and east over town to the Rockies.
